Be lucky to be a quarter an hour 7 days a week on call 24/7 and if you don't get there, just prepare to sift though the trash at the dump for something to fucking fill up your stomach.

environmental protections are rolled back, we are all working for minimum wage with no benefits, no workplace health & safety regulations, and we are all shopping at the Company Store because corporations won't have to pay workers with actual money. By then it will be too late, of course. It will all be over but the bitching and moaning. We deserve everything that's coming to us.

Maybe the people of this country have to hit Rock Bottom before they understand what is being done to them. At the turn of the century, people got a taste of what corporate power is like. Maybe the country has to go through that every century or so before they take to the streets and raise hell. Isn't American History one of the courses given short shrift in schools these days? I'm 62, but I remember learning about the labor movement in this country and what people put up with at the hands of corporations and what they finally did about it.

because that's what the Corporatists really want.

Yesterday I heard someone say "They won't be happy until

we're all working for minimum wage with no benefits,

no safety net, no NOTHING....How do these idiots think

unions in this country came about in the first place?

It's hard to believe how clueless large segments

of the public can be.

I have encountered two young people at local grocery stores who made disparaging remarks about unions. The first time, I couldn't help myself & gave the young lady a mini-lecture about what unions have provided - overtime, safe working conditions, paid holidays, benefits - but she looked at me like I was an out-of-touch old fart. The young man who made a comment just last week, I just rolled my eyes & let it go.

these are all as the result of a middle class labor movement.

We'll be competing with Chinese slave labor for jobs if/when this keeps up. Buy hey, at least the people are voting for good god fearin anti abortion types.

Yes, union busting will suck in the short run.

However, as the rich abuse the hell out of workers the argument for unions becomes stronger.

Unions will rise again. And they'll make things much better for workers again....leading to anti-union settlement and the fall of unions again, leading to another rise.......

a serf class and nothing in between.

And they actually think at that point every serf will have the opportunity to become a billionaire if he/she just works hard enough and worships Jeebus according to Pentacostalist doctrine.
