Michigan is deservedly ranked 50.

Snyder cares, of course, about diverting blame.

Granted, I could do a Google search, but a link would be nonetheless appreciated

(20,176 posts)CT is 3rd in the nation with a C-...except that CT is actually beset by terrible political corruption. (I'd know, my mother is an official on the local ethics commission and an investigatory party on local issues to the state ethics commission in Hartford. Both have full dockets.)
On top of that, we have something like 12 former mayors of major cities currently in or released from prison for corruption, a former governor convicted of corruption, his chief of staff in prison for accepting bribes on the governor's behalf, and the coup d' grace of any assumption of ethics: a former US Senate candidate and mayor of Waterbury who while under surveillance on suspicion of taking bribes was not only caught accepting illegal cash...he used that cash to pay a woman from out of state to transport her under-12y.o. daughter and niece to CT so he could rape them in his office in City Hall. He'd been doing so for years--did I mention that this was all going on while he was the GOP candidate in a US Senate race?
So...CT isn't so great at not being corrupt. We've just gotten good at punishing the corrupt politicians after-the-fact. Sometimes, way too after-the-fact.

(10,494 posts)richly deserve. We rank in the 40's for everything to do with elections and 48 in public access to information. They hide all of the election crap that they use to keep us from going purple/blue. Judicial accountability we should be 50th. If you win a verdict for an individual, the defense knows they can overturn it at the state Supreme Court which rules against individuals in favor of corporations almost 95% of the time. There is no justice in this state except what's for sale!

(46,436 posts)Alaska proudly ranks number 7 among the most corrupt states. How are they giving us a C?
Ed. What??? They're putting Alaska at the "top of the heap"? Maybe it's because they're so transparently corrupt and we all know about it.

(64,852 posts)With 5 ex-governors doing jail time in my life time and the two most crooked didn't go because they didn't get caught? (Thompson and Edgar.)
With a SoS who, when he died, was found to have dozens of shoe boxes full of cash in his closet?
With the Dailey's in Chicago and that cesspool of a city council?
A "D"?
And now with Rauner as governor.
No way. "F" all the way.
