Does anyone know why Upton Sinclair would be not verboten in GD? Reason I am

asking is I saw a post yesterday about him, but couldn't find it. Looked and looked. Discovered it had been alerted on and subsequently hidden- both actions from a small but very active cadre of individuals. What gives? We used to be able to talk about him here.

As many posters have noted, socialism, even in the form of democratic socialism, is bad, very bad.

...that the reason it was hidden had nothing to do with Upton Sinclair.

5. It was not jury hidden but host locked and frankly the lock seemed incorrect to me...

Sinclair is only acceptable in GD rimary? Makes no sense but sense is not what we trade in here anymore.

Not sure why I'm getting stupid emojis when typing P it's not supposed to be there. Lots of glitches in your systems of late....not that you folks care about DU.

the least important and I am sorry about that. However, that emoji is a signal that things are too close together. If you put a space after the colon, the emoji will not show up.

6. Assessing the hide without a link is impossible, but linking might get you a hide.

That's what you call a DU Catch 22.™

ETA: Bluenorthwest says it a lock, not a hide, so a link may survive jury scrutiny? (We never know for certain anymore.)

Sometimes it is embarrassing to be a HRC supporter on this site...

My love always transcends politics merrily. I is all good, I still get crapped on if I say anything nice about BS just like the BS supporters on this site.

Evidently we cannot even have a moderate discussion about our two candidates. How sad is that? On DU. Oh well...at least we both love John Kerry! Dam shame he didn't run.

11. It wasn't hidden; it was an article about Upton Sinclair, but that also noted a similarity

to Bernie Sanders, which the thread starter also used, and the locking message said to repost it in GDP.

Why was that so hard to understand?

And finding it still consists of putting 'upton' into your browser's search box, and getting the result since it's still on GD's front page.

liberal arts, civics, or American History for that matter, I am beginning to suspect the idiocracy has reached critical mass around here.

Mission Accomplished for the corporatocracy, they thrive in a dumbed down population who don't recognize what a democracy is enough to know when they have lost it.

14. The thread was about Sinclair

and the "Dirty Democratic Party", It links a pro-Bernie article. Therefore it is a GDP thread, not for GD.
There is currently a thread about Sinclair in GD, so this has nothing to do with him and more to do with trying to slip a pro-Bernie thread into GD.
The locking was correct.
