She was (still is?) a professor at San Francisco State Univ. I was a student there when she was employed by them some 20+ years ago.

Talk about tough, they don't get any tougher than Angela Davis, that is for sure!

There is a movement abreast that cannot be ignored ... Dump Trump.

& recommend.

Black Power/self-avowed communist demographic

Not sure if it's good for the Democratic ticket or not

And yes, like it or not, it is a voice that has every right to be heard whether you and others approve of her political agenda or not.

5. Black power

Sort of old school so to speak.

I strongly suggest that those that condemn Angela Davis do some serious reading:

1. The Autobiography of Malcolm-X
2. Soul on Ice by Eldridge Cleaver

Make your mind up after learning a few things IMO.

As for tRump, he is more than an annoyance, he is a racist and a bigot. He brings shame to America. Shame!

Swallow that load and then tell me how he is nothing but a minor annoyance for the next 4 years! He offers nothing to anyone, nothing!

6. And look at how BLM protests were viewed too . Unjustified shootings were acknowledged but
Fri Jun 3, 2016, 02:39 PM
Jun 2016

many non affected people claimed the protests were not right ." Didn't look good . Wrong tactics "
Not right for whom?
For them ,because it didn't affect them or their children so they saw no need for BLM protests and tactics to be heard and asked why are they engaging dem candidates, what good can that do?
Not good for "the party"

And I stand by my reply that some will not be very personally affected by his WH although they don't like him , or his policies their own lives are not a target or on the line
and making the dem party look good means don't act up to them.

Others know he must be protested and called out now
Not just ignored with silent hope, as he is allowed to take over the media with his hateful speeches

I originally was replying to a poster who snarked the "all important" as in NOT important black power vote. As if it did not matter . She left the communist party but maybe they bring that up to put her as a bigger outlier too.
Also she did not just start yesterday she is part of the movement before the Iowa caucus that came out with the petition to stophatedrumptrump
Although those reads you suggest are classics , she has at least a dozen books of her own
Many about gender, so let the women speak for herself IMO if one wants to learn more about her before condemning Davis

You sound like you're shilling for tRump. You should try out the Free Republic (if it still exists that is) for your tRump lovefest. Shame on you!

Advice: Find somewhere else to post this crap and yes, that is what it is = CRAP (among other words).

I remember her well and I always admired her. Didn't always agree with her. She is really smart.

Some of those black power dudes were really scary. I was at the University of Utah back then and I think there was 1 black guy other tan the football players. It was all new to me.

Man, those were the days. I am so glad I lived right in the middle of all of that.

This election cycle is going to suck. And it's going to get violent. Donald Trump is insane and so are his supporters.
