There is nothing that justifies egging this Trump supporter. Nothing

Last edited Fri Jun 3, 2016, 05:28 PM - Edit history (2)

I feel so bad for this person.

The unidentified woman who got egged Thursday night at a raucous Donald Trump rally became a flashpoint and a trending Twitter moment as the Republican presidential candidate spoke at the San Jose Convention Center.

Her identity remained a mystery on Friday. Even a front desk employee at the Hilton San Jose hotel where she was attacked, didn't think she was a guest there.
Bernie Sanders Fans Line Up for Miles in Oakland
But her image was documented by reporters, citizen journalists and photographers, showing the aftermath of what happened to her: Her blond hair and cheeks were streaked with egg yolk.

Sara Murray from CNN also captured the woman, who appears to be in her 30s and wearing a red-white-and-blue USA Trump T-shirt, entering the hotel, which is connected to the convention center. Murray tweeted that the woman “flipped the bird and taunted” anti-Donald Trump protesters, who in turn, threw egg on her. Other witnesses told NBC Bay Area that the woman and her friend were harassing them, and yelling racist remarks before the egg was lobbed.

than what someone did to the paint job on my car.

Just kidding. I did have to get my car repainted, and the new paint job was crap and didn't last long...and it really pissed me off...

but nobody deserves to be hit with anything...not even nerf balls, because even if they aren't hurt by it, it has to be terrifying to think someone is coming after you and might try to hurt you or worse.

I hope she learned that in this day and age of road rage, it's not wise to taunt people like that, but it never should have resulted in violence. NEVER

And yes, this IS violence...even if it didn't include chasing, cornering, and bottle throwing, I consider throwing something at another person in anger.

I'm not looking to make excuses, because the perpetrators definitely need to be brought before a judge and made to answer for their crimes, but if they were hired by someone (Donald Trump comes to mind; he's hired people to cheer for him, remember?) then their paymaster should be in court, too.

Remember the initial reporting when Trump announced his candidacy was all about the cheering throngs in the building lobby. Then the word started leaking out that the crowd might not have been quite as spontaneous and supportive as reporters were led to believe. Then it turned out that the Trump campaign had actually done a cattle call in the acting community to get people to show up and cheer lustily for him. It was all as fake as Prairie Chapel.

But take a look at my post: I said the perpetrators should be hauled before a judge and made to answer any criminal charges. If these goons were paid for their thuggery, then their paymasters should be in the dock with them. I don't see how that can be construed to "excuse their behavior."

Witnesses: Woman Egged at San Jose Donald Trump Rally Was Cussing, Yelling Anti-Mexican Remarks

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Witness-Says-She-Was-Harassed-By-Woman-Egged-at-San-Jose-Donald-Trump-Rally-381802721.html

“I think there were a lot of peaceful protesters for the most part,” George said, “but the young people don’t know what it’s about and just wanted to start trouble.”

She also said she heard many in the crowd trying to put an end to the vitriol. “I heard people saying, ‘Stop! Stop! This is what they want us to do,’’’ George said.

There is a video at the link that shows the woman laughing at the crowd...then gets hit with the egg and turns away, then turns back still laughing. She didn't look terrified by the egg...but the video ends there, and this particular news story does not say she was chased, cornered, and had bottles and eggs thrown at her.

OK, I just found it:

The violence broke out after the event in San Jose wrapped up just before 8 p.m. local time (11 p.m. ET). Some Trump supporters were punched. One woman wearing a "Trump" jersey was cornered, spat on, and pelted with eggs and water bottles.

They are just a bunch of agitators. What better way to blame Mexicans for causing a problem at these protests than people holding Mexican flags. Gosh, they must all be Mexicans, right? ... and the events a bit dubious if you ask me. You can't convince me that those young attackers were Bernie supporters. Bernie supporters do NOT act like that. And why did the police not intervene? If those were Bernie supporters, I can tell you right now those policemen would have been using some billy clubs and pepper spray and their arses would have been arrested pronto. Does anyone know if the police 4ever stepped in and arrested anyone? does anyone know if anyone was hurt seriously?

It was a made-up for camera set up riot. As a matter of fact, many of the scenes looked like it might be kids on spring break at Fort Lauderdale. They looked like they were having a great time. The young lady in this OP Photo was actually smiling at the beginning of the whole thing. Did anyone see that? Then when they kept egging her, it wasn't fun anymore. It was degrading and mean and then they took this photo of her. She wasn't smiling anymore.

That's what I saw, anyway. They should have rounded up the assholes and taken them in, everyone of them, I don't care who they were or why they came out to attack Trump supporters.

She just could have shut up and walked back in the event and asked for an escort out.

I am editing my post to reflect the fact that two wrongs don't make it right.

Those who brought the eggs were looking for a target.

Those who started the ruckus.

Could they both have been Trump supporters with the goal of making Bernie look bad?

Or even vice versa?

Fri Jun 3, 2016, 06:19 PM

What is not fine is any sort of physical manifestation of that anger. Period. You don't kick anyone, or hit them, or grab their hats, or egg them. Be mad. Shout. Wave signs. Gesture. But NOTHING PHYSICAL.

And it's stupid!! If that woman was harassing someone and yelling racist epithets, then FILM it and YOUTUBE it and win the moral high ground! Now she's the victim. She'll re-emerge talking about how awful leftists and liberals and Mexicans and Democrats are, and it will be ever so much easier to paint Trumpeters and Democrats with the same broad brush.

I have no issue with the anger. But what you do with that anger is entirely different.

Along with the heavy insinuation/smear that it was "Bernie Sanders Fans." Odd how this completely out-of-the-blue, non-sequitur was plugged into the OP:

"Bernie Sanders Fans Line Up for Miles in Oakland"

I guess somehow that non-contextual bit just found its way in there. Oh yeah, the egg-throwing incident happened in San Jose...for those keeping track, Oakland is 40 fucking miles away! Would have been just as relevant to say:

"Macy's was having a Memorial Day's sale in Los Angeles"

From the OP's hidden posts (transparency is a beautiful thing):

"If I was Hillary I'd make (Bernie) kiss my ass before he spoke at the convention."

"Could this also signify that all Bernie supporters are BIRDBRAINS???"

"This is the biggest collection of horrible people ever." (i.e. Bernie supporters)

Nope, no agenda here. Forgive me if I doubt the OP's sincerity of this woman's plight. Or, perhaps I can look forward to their next provocative/click-baity OP with the pics from my post and the subject line:

There is nothing that justifies pepper-spraying these Bernie(?) supporters. Nothing

Fri Jun 3, 2016, 06:33 PM

I agree in general people should not be assaulted for supporting a political candidate. But for many people in this country Trump supporters are working to enable him to do just that.

Not something I would do to be sure but I am not particularly bothered by it either. These folks are trying to get someone into office that would be devastating for many families.

I don't have a lot of respect for them nor do I think they deserve much. They clearly don't have any respect for millions of people in this country nor the country in general. In my opinion they deserve little more than scorn and ridicule.

In the US that I don't respect and I don't think deserve much. I don't attack those people and I don't condone attacks on those people. "Scorn and ridicule" is a far cry from mob attacks. This attack isn't ok and shouldn't be excused in any manner. A lot of Republicans think Hillary would be devastating but they shouldn't be able to attack her supporters. They almost certainly do deserve a lot of blame for this. They started this asshole behavior. No one physically attacked Mitt Romney's, John McCain's, or even George W. Bush's supporters because they didn't behave like violent, uncivilized psychopaths. Violence begets violence. The morons in California came about from months and months of douchebag behavior from Trump bots.
