Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar arrested

http://news.yahoo.com/megachurch-pastor-creflo-dollar-arrested-163311154.html

ATLANTA (AP) — Megachurch pastor and televangelist Creflo Dollar — who has drawn scrutiny for his flashy lifestyle and preaching that prosperity is good — was arrested early Friday after authorities say he slightly hurt his 15-year-old daughter in a fight at his metro Atlanta home.

Fayette County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of domestic violence at the home in unincorporated Fayette County around 1 a.m., said investigator Brent Rowan. The pastor and his daughter were arguing over whether she could go to a party when Dollar "got physical" with her, leaving her with "superficial injuries," Rowan said.

I worked with a guy who thought he hung the moon and start. Almost everyday he told me of something he would say.

caught a few minutes of him one time. I gotta admit, his last name being dollar was quite fitting in an ironic sort of way.

Tip off too....

I'm quite familiar with the "word-faith" or "prosperity gospel" preachers, like this guy and Kenneth Copeland. Preaching that God rewards the faithful with material possessions, health, etc. That if you aren't driving a Mercedes and living in a mansion, if you get sick, if you fall on hard times, it is entirely due to a flaw in your faith. It is one of the most toxic interpretations of spirituality out there, and it isn't limited to Christianity.

Child abuse is well documented and encouraged in the Bible, this man's moral guide. Just take Abraham and Isaac as an example. If you think your "loving god" would ask you to murder your child just to "test you," then I can see how hitting your child would be par for the course.

Imagine no Religion. It's easy if you try.

“If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,he must let her be redeemed."

Selling your children into slavery isn't child abuse?

At least they were in the election cycle 2008.
I don't like the timing here in an election year at all. Stinks already.

Domestic disputes usually can't be put on hold until after elections.
