Are you willing to compromise on Social Security and Medicare?

They had better watch how they talk to me about Social Security and Medicare....I'm their worst nightmare....I'm a senior on steroids....I'll drool and bleed all over them.

I'm not willing to give up one red cent of my Social Security or Medicare so that the richer can get richer. How about you?

...very much wants to compromise our benefits away.

"Our plan makes roughly two dollars in benefit reductions for every one dollar in revenue increases"

http://www.thirdway.org/publications/363

It sounds more Republican than Democratic, but if you want to know our parties plans under a center right leadership, just ask third way (or more precisely, just look up their GOP lite plans directly on their site)

They are talking cuts to save what they consider to be a false idea (Social Security)
"the inter-generational promise of Social Security—our nation’s most important social insurance program—is a false one." according to them.

Can we call them Republicans yet?

Are the rich willing to pay a fair share of taxes including capital gains. Are the corporations willing to give up their corporate welfare. Is Congress willing to give up their pensions. We need a national health care, every one gets covered and the money going to insurance CEO's and executives can go for paying for health care.

It became common knowledge that the DLC was a Koch product?

Koch Industries gave funding to the DLC and served on its Executive Council

http://www.correntewire.com/why_its_feature_not_bug_koch_family_funds_dlc

They had to pretend to stop existing and began resorted to hanging out only at PPI and Third Way.
Posting that information as you have may result in the marketing Dept. having to come up with a new nuts to bolts RW policy "Democratic lobbying group" to replace "Third Way".
That's hard work man.
Just thinking up the new name will cost some cash.

Last year during the budget debate and there was talk about privatizing or cutting social security I called the office of my congressman who happens to be a Repuke deluxe (Rohrabacher) to object to any proposals in that direction. I got a quick call back from a senior staffer in Washington assuring me the Republicans would not cut it, followed by a personal letter to me with further assurances from the Shitter himself.

The closest thing I have seen from them that would give a hint of the appearance of fear is the weasel way they like to say "no cuts will affect CURRENT recipients", a nice way of saying support us and throw your kids under the bus for cuts, pathetic actually.

He had to do something! Obama had to cut a deal with Republicans to show that Democrats are for fiscal responsibility too - even if it contracts the economy and kills off some old people here and there. You had your chance. If you didn't want him to do this, you should have run your "progressive" candidate against him in the primaries!

I just want to know the price placed on a human life, especially since what is expected that they wish to slash is simply what a life-time of insurance payments have already purchased.

I am very curious in fact.

I would even be willing to cheer on another wage-lowering, anti-union, let's-ship-more-jobs-to-foreign-countries "free-trade" agreement. One is in the works.

And I would be willing to cheer on another "temporary" extension of the tax-cuts for the super-rich as a so-called compromise.

Support for endless wars? Yes, you could count of my support there as well.

How about assaulting protestors? Yes, you could also count of my support for that as well.

Threaten to hold up defense funding unless we get it. Or threaten truly draconian regulations on Wall Street. Take hostages, play their game.

The real problem is the leaders of "our" party are all too willing to go the other way. Their goals are not aligned with ours.

In the meantime, the "job creators" continue to have their tax breaks while failing to create American jobs. It's only fair that the tables get turned on them and we maintain our safety net programs, while the rich get taxed higher since they can easily afford to pay extra. The working class has suffered long enough. It's time for the rich to feel the heat now and get us out of our debt crisis.
