Dem Rep. In Letter To Trump: ‘Take Your Border Wall And Shove It Up Your Ass’

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela took a poison pen to the Republican presumptive presidential nominee, Donald Trump, in an open letter Monday morning.

"Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass," the Brownsville Democrat wrote in a lengthy missive to the real estate magnate.

................

"While you would build more and bigger walls on the U.S.-Mexico border, I would tear the existing wall to pieces," Vela wrote. "Why any modern-thinking person would ever believe that building a wall along the border of a neighboring country, which is both our ally and one of our largest trading partners, is frankly astounding and asinine."

"Before you dismiss me as just another 'Mexican,' let me point out that my great-great-grandfather came to this country in 1857, well before your own grandfather," he continued. “His grandchildren (my grandfather and his brothers) all served our country in World War I and World War II. His great-grandson, my father, served in the U.S. Army and, coincidentally, was one of the first 'Mexican' federal judges ever appointed to the federal bench."

We have plenty of everything here

Jobs, schools, hospitals, affordable housing, plenty of open land and resources.

Hell, we should be encouraging folks from less fortunate circumstances to move here rather than trying to keep them out.

We have no need to know why and how many are here, we should just be thankful that people of the world want to share in what we have.

And the Trumps of this country can go fuck themselves!

...working on reconstituting the former Soviet Union, if not the former Russian Empire? How do you think the Ukrainians feel about their borders just now? The Poles, the Czechs? Think they're sleeping easy?

The US is just incredibly lucky to have friendly neighbors, and building a wall is too bloody stupid for words (and all too reminiscent of the Berlin Wall, which was designed to keep people in, not out). But just opening our borders without doing anything to regulate the flow of economic and environmental refugees from Central and South America is a recipe for chaos of every sort, especially given the sheer quantity of privately owned firearms here.

Try again.

"The US is just incredibly lucky to have friendly neighbors"

Really, you think that's true? Or does it have something to do with the fact that the US strong arms everyone all the time and it would be stupid of other countries (especially the ones next to us) to go against us? Hmm. Sure that has nothing to do with it.

"and building a wall is too bloody stupid for words"

From the "H" in your logo, looks like that's exactly what you're supporting.

are you going to berate other users for cell-phone spell check? "Exude" was what it is supposed to be. So now that we have that important bit out of the way (more so than say, an election, it would seem) maybe you will be so kind as to stop deflecting on typos instead of offering you're supreme knowledge (JURY: based on a post count, Hekate's rules) on why Hillary, 8 months ago, was for a border wall and has been for some time (and voted for it multiple times)?

Now once, you can answer that, I am interested in hearing how you think it is appropriate to apply criticism upon Trump when Hillary virtually wants the same thing.

Post count. Wow!

But apparently Republicans don't think anyone could ever come up with a plan to defeat their wall. Climb over, dig under, knock a hole in it. Nope, too sophisticated for Republicans to think up.

Three predictions if they ever start building such a wall: 1) As soon as they finish building a section of it, they will turn around and see people climbing over. 2) They will claim "No one could have foreseen" this failure of the wall to keep people out. 3) Faced with the utter failure of The Wall to prevent illegal immigration, they will call for building a giant moat along the entire border (even on the mountaintops).

There will be massive federal contracts build the damn thing. It is a positive to the construction companies and to the Republicans if people can get over/under the wall because repairs and improvements create more profit opportunities. Why build it once when you can keep building it for a decade? No doubt there are construction companies already lobbying the Republicans for this business.

I think we are being nearsighted here. If we build a wall along the Mexican border,
in 3000 years or so it will become an obsolete, ineffective tourist attraction --
like the Great Wall of China! Think of all the jobs it will create, too....

"Spoken by one of the most racist liberal people in Congress." Liberal and racist don't really coincide. But that's the new meme. Disagree with a conservative, you're a racist. Accuse them of racism and you're the racist.

"Unprofessional. How dare he use language like that?" Cheney telling someone to go fuck themselves was okay though

"Deport this Mexican." To where? His family's been here almost 175 years.
