Well i see based on the new rules i will no longer be selected for jury duty. This is both good and bad. Good because i do not have to serve on jury duty anymore and bad because i sorta enjoyed it.
I come to this site daily for insight and knowledge but post infrequently. a lurker is what they call it. Not sure how many posts i have but sure it is less than 1000.

(464 posts)Don't have 1000 posts and my star lapsed a while ago. I'm still planning on donating again soon, but the 1000 posts thing still applies. Not that big of a loss but I i considered myself an excellent jurist. IMHO, naturally. 😊

(22,034 posts)Look at my post count: I think this is like #502. I, too, have enjoyed serving on juries and as a moderately-minded man, I try to be open minded and reasonable.
I've been reading Democratic Underground since just after it first came online but I didn't join until around 2006. I really didn't start posting until the last year because I didn't want to get involved in the many arguments that some of the members sincerely enter into. Actually, I still don't. But I've donated some money whenever I could.
Here's what I'm going to do: post a lot over the next week. Kick up my post count; you're closer than I am to the 1,000 posting threshold. I'll be sincere, honest and supportive in each of my posts. Let's follow the website rules. I hope to serve on a jury or more with you!
And always support the Democratic candidates. We need to take out the Republicans in November!

(35,773 posts)Still, while the changes are probably improvements, I am somewhat underwhelmed. It does stop the ugly responses by jurors, which were often worse than the offending OP. Still, I'm not sure it will stop ugly posts getting a pass, because they support a popular notion, and mild posts getting hidden because support a less popular notion. We shall see.
