That's what a lot of people seem to think is wrong with him (and it fits if you look it up in DSM-IV). He's a mess but it's way more than mere anxiety. The only way drugs could change his behavior is if you gave him enough of something like Thorazine to render him unconscious.

tRump is too far gone to benefit from any kind of treatment for NPD. If he had gotten treatment for his megalomania 40-50 years ago, he could have at least been able to put on a gracious front, but at his age, he's beyond help.

The GOP's attempts to make him dial it back won't work because he doesn't think there's anything wrong with him or with what he says. It's not that he's an amateur at politics; it's that he's a terrible, disordered person.

Personality disordered individuals never think anything's wrong with them. It's the other guy's (or gal's) fault.

My S-I-L is a classic case - she talks over everybody; everything is about her; everything she does is better than anything everybody else does; she's not interested in anyone else except how they relate to her; nothing is ever her fault; and she flies into a rage if you dare to contradict or challenge her. She's a Republican, too, which makes her that much worse. People with NPD are impossible to deal with.
