Somebody who screwed billions of dollars out of people with crooked business practices vs somebody who RETURNED billions of dollars to people who had been screwed by crooked business practices. These two are NATURAL enemies, and I'm loving it! Watching Warren's speech is like watching a mongoose take apart a rattlesnake. It looks like Elizabeth Warren has got herself a new job (WE HOPE): Trumps Antagonist in Chief.
Her job will be to poke him, prick him, deflate him, and make him loose his cool, over and over again, while the Democratic nominee stays above it all. Excellent. She'll bring him low with facts and logic. He'll respond with childish insults.
And yes, this will be a battle of BILLIONAIRES. That's right, two BILLIONAIRES, albeit of different sorts.
On the one hand we have Trump, who stole, conned, or squeezed billions out of regular people via gambling addictions or fake universities. (At least he SAYS it's billions, but since he won't release his tax returns we really have no idea of how much money he does or doesn't have.)
And on the other hand we have Warren. A DIFFERENT SORT OF BILLIONAIRE. She created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, that RETURNED $10.1 BILLION to CONSUMERS who had been screwed over by crooked business practices.
Imagine that! A 'billionaire' who RETURNS billions to consumers. GO ELIZABETH!

(4,249 posts)I think she will be more effective in the Senate. I can't see her as a lapdog shilling for Clinton's policies and preferences.
Nay
(12,051 posts)search-and-destroy missions she does so well. I'd love it if Warren could be on the attack 24/7 as VP, but I have little hope that would be allowed. Warren herself will have to determine whether acceptance of the VP position would be effective. I think she'd chose the Senate if she thought she'd have to be a lapdog.

(5,953 posts)The VP generally gets packed into a box, and stored in the basement of the White House for the next four years. They then do their one, single debate with the other VP candidate four years later, and then it's back into the box again.
I'd rather people put pressure on Senate Democrats to pull their heads out of their asses, and appoint Warren and Sanders to key positions in the Senate. As well as having them lead the progressive caucus outside of the Senate. If a pathetic, wet fish like Ted Cruz can do that with a tea-party caucus, Sanders and Warren can definitely do it with a progressive caucus.
