"SNIP..............
Donald Trump has some ideas for how to jazz up the Republican National Convention, and he previewed one at a rally on Friday evening: a winners evening of sports celebrities and champions addressing the convention rather than politicians, the New York Times reports.
He said he wanted to have them all address the convention as examples of winners, rather than these people, these politicians who are going to get up and speak and speak and speak.

(82,849 posts)This doesn't sound so much like a political gathering as one of those motivational speaker explosions! Scheduled to appear: Ten interesting-sounding people (none of whom will actually be there, bait-and-switch), and a dozen also-rans who boast a resume of runner-up for Midwest Salesman of the Year from 2008.
Sports celebrities!Whoo hoo! It's . . . Tim Tebow? Robert Wuhl? Who?
