It was a weird bit off fallout from the ImBev acquisition of Anheiser-Busch; we don't actually get Mexican Corona anymore.

They're about the only ones getting employed these days in manufacturing.

Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro was named the best brewer in the world Saturday night by RateBeer.

The brewery is on a dirt road in the Northeast Kingdom, on the former dairy farm where founder and brewer Shaun Hill grew up. The win places Hill Farmstead at the top of more than 22,500 brewers. This is the second straight year Hill Farmstead Brewery is ranked No. 1 in the world.

The ranking is derived from criteria that include “ten different weighted scales that place an emphasis on reviews of the past year and top performing beers but also includes historical all-around performance, (and) a brewer's range of performance across styles,” according to RateBeer, a beer review and rating website.

Hill, a graduate of Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, studied philosophy at Haverford College in suburban Philadelphia. He opened Hill Farmstead Brewery five and a half years ago with the stated intention of brewing the best beer in the world.

With Saturday’s No. 1 ranking, Hill has achieved that goal three times, according to RateBeer: in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Hill Farmstead Brewery was rated No. 2 in the world in 2013.
