George Takei Retweeted Donald J. Trump
Once again, Donald, you have shown why you cannot lead us. 50 people are dead, and you bask in congratulations.

(41,932 posts)By the way I'm very good with language and when the mood;s right I absolutely enjoy a good curse. They were invented for a reason...or, perhaps, unreason.

(9,760 posts)It's certainly not an actually factual. Millions of people who curse communicate their messages effectively to others. Considering the number of people who do curse, it seems pretty silly to imagine that they don't.

(8,311 posts)The worst Takei has resorted to in the pursuit of an effective message was calling the Arkansas school official who said gay teens should kill themselves a "douchebag", but still pretty intense for Takei. And he followed it up with a much more effective put down.
Lately the only phrase I've felt the need to embellish with cursing was "I'm sick and tired of being accused of being a troll or shill for having the audacity to express my opinion on a forum I've been a member of for eight years", but this tragedy leaves me speechless.

(3,687 posts)...regressives and Republicans (same thing) are demanding that the President and the rest of us use their PC personally corrosive, poorly chosen, politically correctable "radical" word-salads (ala Palin)
Here is my not politically correct personal call-out to the regressive American tribe, "Screw the NRAterrorist enablers!"

Liberal_in_LA
(44,397 posts)The difference in tone is striking. Clinton was empathetic and sorrowful. Trump was triumphant and aggressive.
Trumps tweet speaks to the single largest problem facing his presidential campaign: While hes mastered the role of tough and unapologetic leader, he simply cannot seem to understand that at times a president needs to be an empathetic consoler in chief, too.
____
Trumps tweet feels decidedly off in the context of the tragedy playing out in Orlando. That people are congratulating him about being right about the threat posed by the Islamic States feels like the sort of thing that could have certainly waited a few days or forever to publicize. Making a moment like this one about yourself I was right! is the essence of Trumps tweet is a giant swing and miss when it comes to understanding what the broader nation requires of its leaders.

(64 posts)time and time again that he is an idiot. A dangerous idiot.
GOP must be pulling their hair out with all of these amateurish mistakes he makes on a daily basis. Completely avoidable controversies that he just can't help put himself right in the middle of time and time again.
He's a joke, and his comments are an embarrassment and an insult to all of those who lost their lives and are grieving.
