It makes perfect sense (in an evil way) that a radical islamic terrorist would attack a gay night club (soft target).
Still, all of this hate has roots in other religions and cultures as well. We need to call it for what it is, and fight it tooth and nail (I don't mean WAR), no matter where it raises its ugly head.

(751 posts)We have hate groups of all sort of persuasions. I don't see how you fight them except in the long term through education and reduction in ignorance.
Efforts should be focused on how to keep dangerous weapons from wackos and crazies like this guy. You really can't stop lone wolfs, but you can limit the damage they do.

(294 posts)No, it doesn't make sense, at least if you mean the organizations rather than the individuals. Islamic terrorist groups typically target ordinary people (not to say that gay people are not ordinary) with the goal of instilling fear that would affect the society as a whole. Selecting one particular subgroup is not effective. They want to target groups that that they believe as many people as possible can identify with.
