Even if you don't like country music, watch this. It's like a version from Mayberry.
Love it!
Andy would be proud!

(27,137 posts)Although I'm not what one would call a ''religious person'' I'm a PK and so I grew hearing religion whether I wanted to or not. Everyday. Every. Single. Day. The good thing about this is, as a result of these religious drenchings I know Christianity better than most people (better than most preachers too). So whenever I've come across someone who ''claims'' to be a Christian (and most southern folks down here in Tennessee do) and yet they're so critical and downright nasty toward those who are gay, I've always repeated to them the following verses.
Gets. Them. Every. Time.
1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 22
36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38. This is the first and great commandment.
39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I would probably feel the intake of breath here as a gale force wind.
I don't watch CMT much because there are too many performers that seem to be the same. There are some good songs and some good performers, but a lot of them seem to be out of the same mould.
Jason Aldean included a 'rap' verse in one of his songs and that caused a stir. He used country ideas in the form of rap. Cognitive dissonance ran wild. I'm sure some people had no clue and thought he was losing his musical faculties.
There is one song I really like called 'Springsteen.' It is country, but it it pays homage to The Boss and memories from the past.
'Funny how a melody sounds like a memory.....'
