Certainly there were some. Not too much.

If right-wingers come to the conclusion that gay people aren't their enemy, I see that as progress.

Republicans openly hate us, Democrats just think poorly of us and give us no respect save on days like today when everyone is watching. In March, our presumptive nominee went on TV and fully revised the history of LGBT activism and AIDS to favor Republicans like Ron and Nancy Reagan at the expense of LGBT whom she suggested failed to take significant action until Reagan showed us how. Her boosters cheered for that, refused to discuss the truth and attacked those of us who tried to discuss it. Today they all act like our allies, but in March they did not give a fuck about LGBT at all. Used us openly to pander to Republicans.

So whatever.

They fashion themselves as a pro-human rights party while keeping women, PoC and the LGBTQI community at arm's length (save for times that it matters, which should be ALL the time).

It's no secret that they've been marginalizing the progressive movement since the First Clinton and embracing Third Way betrayals at all cost. Those betrayals have lost us the House, the Senate, governorships and over 900 state seats.

And now that our nominee is pretty much a moderate Republican, we're expected to go along with revisionism, corporate pandering and a narrative that doesn't include Universal Health Care. As a father of a student with a pre-existing condition, I'll never forgive or forget the kind of politics her and the Lieberturds of the world embrace.

It's to the point that I'm not sure what kind of person the DNC expects to embrace their platform, whatever that may be. If they don't differ much economically and only embrace human rights when called out on it, "Trump" and "lucky that the Supreme Court is in play" is only going to go so far.

Because that statement was serious denial!

Yes, gay people should flock to the Republican party and then we can help them design the laws to curtail or remove our civil rights.

Democrats Shout 'Shame!' as Republicans Overturn Vote to Prevent LGBT Discrimination

Furious Democrats repeatedly bellowed "shame!" in the US House of Representatives on Thursday as their Republican colleagues changed their votes at the last minute to defeat a pro-LGBT amendment.

The chaotic scene unfolded on the House floor shortly before noon, and comes less than a day after the chamber passed a defense authorization bill that includes a Republican provision protecting federal contractors from discrimination based on religious beliefs.

Democrats say that the amendment is an explicit attempt by Republicans to undercut President Obama's 2014 executive order preventing discrimination against individuals based on their gender identity or sexual orientation in federal contracts. The religious liberty amendment was attached in committee and never got a separate vote by the full House, leaving Democrats to choose between authorizing funding for the Department of Defense or voting against language that they had dubbed discriminatory.

New York Representative Sean Patrick Maloney, a Democrat who failed in a bid with Republican members on Tuesday to add LGBT protections to the bill, offered an amendment on Thursday to try to overturn it. The amendment, which Maloney attached to separate legislation providing funding for military construction and the Department of Veterans Affairs, would provide LGBT protections to counteract the religious liberty language in the defense bill passed the night before.
