The Zika virus and Fox/Republican pressure--a terrible combination.
I am not sure which one is worse--the scourge of the Zika virus or the awful impact of Fox/Republican pressure, which is systematically unraveling our community and is making it so we cannot deal with emergencies, with helping our fellow citizens, etc.
The Republican Party is now requiring this country to bargain with right-wingers over the funds needed to address the Zika virus. This is a very heart and soul of the approach that the Right Wingers and the top 1% employ to control our country, this abetted by the major media who never call them out on it. (Does anyone think that the word "never" is inappropriate here? if so, please tell me when over the last 10 years the Right Wing has ever been called out by the mainstream media?)
On the other hand, the Right Wing/Fox lies about Obama, about progressives, etc., are daily trumpeted and daily believed by low information voters and also by Republican shills who know the truth but who are more interested in their fat paychecks and the preservation of power. Their stock in trade is "plausible deniability" and "motivated reasoning." Truth does not matter a whit to them, and also the harm they do does not matter.
The Republican hierarchy with its top down approach and its order lack of concern for anyone other than for their supporters reminds me of the World War II Nazi mindset, which was happy to remove the gold from the teeth of those whom they sent into the gas chambers, the ovens. Those Germans to work very willing to make gains over the pain and suffering of others.
This Republican/Fox mindset is absolutely antithetical to a caring, responsible humane approach. The Founders of the Country would be aghast at what the Republican leaders are now doing. And how many soldiers who died in World War II would have been glad to have perished so Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Donald Trump, and others are able to do the evil that they do? And all with a Mainstream Media that is silent and acquiescent.
Or am I wrong?
