Made by a high school student. Extremely worthwhile! It goes by fast, so keep your eyes open.

(51,308 posts)but I watched it . Pretty cool
Is there sound? Because if there is, I'll check back tomorrow when I can hear it lol!

(149,562 posts)I don't recognize the music, but it's quite dramatic, and really adds to the video.
Do watch it with sound! It's amazing.

(2,307 posts)Composed the music. He is know for creating "trailer" music. You know that exciting music you hear at the theatre building to a climatic ending, usually based on the music of the film.
It seem as if I have hear it before but can't recall the movie it goes to.

(51,308 posts)I have to do something about this lol...but no way to get a new one anytime soon...I'm always watching videos without sound. Romney is hilarious that way...and actually Obama is too. Mayhaps I should keep the sound off!

(12,806 posts)However, Hans Zimmer did the score for that movie, so I don't think this piece is actually from the soundtrack.
Oh, wait -- here's something from the related Wikipedia article: "The trailers for the film feature specially composed music by Zack Hemsey, which does not appear on the official soundtrack."

Another note, from the Wikipedia article on the film itself:
"The official trailer released on May 10, 2010 through Mind Game was extremely well received.[81] It featured an original piece of music, "Mind Heist", by marketing composer Zack Hemsey, rather than music from the score."

(37,573 posts)although I found the story to be kinda dumb. Vietnam, for example, and heck, even WWII and the civil war get less time than 911. It is only "OUR story" if that story is written by a member of the M$M or a high school student with a "last decade" sense of history. But I also like to be able to read a story rather than just write an animation on the upper right corner and then quickly flip through the pages.

(12,806 posts)More than 9/11, I thought... unless you include the whole "War on Terror" sequence as belonging to "9/11."

(37,573 posts)but I only saw it once. THe thing is that WWII lasted, what 6 years from 1939 to 1945 and killed something like 50 million people. 911 lasted one day and killed about 3,000 people. Yet WWII only got about 8 seconds to 5 seconds for 911. Now the Bush administration and the M$M hyped 911 like it was bigger than WWII, but from where I sit 50,000,000 >>>>>> 3,000.
Maybe that is my old-fashioned math.

(2,307 posts)They got the evolutionary chain slightly wrong but it was a great video.
I wished it was a little longer.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,562 posts)I too wish it were longer........and a tiny bit slower!

(639 posts)what was that blur at the end there? This was great but jumped from Obama to oil to the big galaxies at the beginning so ................................. Best short attention span theater ever. Was there a point?
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,562 posts)He certainly is NOT.
It does go by very quickly. I have no idea what the blur at the end might be...
The point was to show our history......

(639 posts)as we know it. Back to a Big Bang ... maybe the student didn't expect us to look for a connection, just an end. Really well done. Thank you.

(20,453 posts)There's not as much recognition, it seems when short films like these are made for EDITING, which this film achieves with excellence!
It sure moves like a symphony!
