Obamanut's Addendeum to Trumad's Course on Gators

1. Anything larger than a puddle in Florida has at least one gator in it, often including swimming pools.

2. Gators can climb fences.

3. Getting within fifty feet of fresh water in Florida, especially at night, is madness.

... The wild hogs.

I've been chased by those bastards!

I've also had a monkey in my trees. Florida keeps my life interesting (and I admittedly love it)!

So maybe the true scenario is that it flapped off before the alligator could eat it.

their near ubiquitous habitat in south Florida--as well as the risks. I realize there are plenty of things I don't know, but this lack of awareness does surprise me and undoubtedly explains a lot why "no swimming" signs Disney put up did not have the same meaning, inference, or context for the family (tourists) as it would have for me, and presumably, most in Florida and coastal/bayou regions of the south.

They are deceptively fast. One big pond I run by a lot has all these little "logs" in the water floating around ie gators! I see retirees from up north walking their little dogs REALLY close to the shore, and it always freaks me out. They will get the dog.

come down to the beach during gator feeding hours--without warning visitors from out of state that there could be gators or that a gator can come up onto the beach after a prey-sized child.

The blue circle in this picture shows where the movie screen is placed:

Everybody with two brain cells to rub together will tell you that crepuscular (dusk or dawn) is pretty much the time that you will get eaten.

It's nuts to have to even explain this.

Louisiana wildlife is what I am most familiar with, and have trudged through more bayous, coolies, and swamps than is normal.

Things you don't mess with: Feral hogs, alligators or water moccasins.

Other snakes, lizards and little mammals like mice? Fine.
