With Trump's negatives growing, could GOP leadership

successfully dump and replace Trump without too much backlash? Before, when T's numbers were good, I think gop leadership feared splitting the party. Now, I'm not so sure. Yes, they'd probably lose the election with T as a 3rd party, but it looks like they'll lose anyway.

I was reading today where Trump offended a bunch of Southern Baptists because one SB preacher took a stand against Trump's amorality. I'm wondering who's left to offend.

1. I think there would be a lot of backlash if they dumpted Trump. Trump got more primary votes

than any Republican nominee in history. He has a broad base of support in the Republican party.

to that of the general election. Since Trump seems to change positions as often as some people
change underwear he probably will suffer from the remorse problem more than most others.
He does seem to have annoyed some people with his comment on the terrorist watch list and gun
purchases yesterday.

He's their leader, they only have themselves to blame for this. Maybe they should leave the gop, let trump have the party.

3. No, that would probably destroy the republican party

I can only see something like that happening if the GOP leadership became suicidal, they will just have to take it on the chin if Trump loses the election, at this point.

they might do it in an attempt to salvage their majorities in the House and Senate.

It could permanently end the Republican Party. (Which, by the way, would be good riddance.)

I think they will try to talk him into stepping down. That is their only hope IMO. They need to get him to bow out for some reason that does not piss off his supporters.

Of course.. first they need to talk him into it but I bet those discussions are happening.

Just my speculation.

He is so angry all the time that his blood pressure must be sky high. He is probably a perfect setup for a stroke or heart attack.

That would sure be some fun summertime TV watching.

Bout time they change that no gun rule at the convention also. After all that's happened and all. There'll probably be plenty of terrerists in the hall during the convention, so they need lots of 'good guys with guns" in the hall also.

If republicans ask Trump to step down, his supporters are going to go nuts.

If Trump stays in the race, I'm pretty confident Hillary will beat him, and when that happens his supporters are going to go nuts.
