For me - and lots of other people, I'm sure - the internet has opened a linguistic playground for experimentation. In the early days before the WWW, some would complain about my choice of uncommon words and phrases, but with a dozen dictionaries literally at one's fingertips today, I hold no truck with those who are too lazy to just look it up.
