I give that a >50% chance. We've seen just how unhinged and psychotic his supporters are. Now imagine their reaction if the nomination is actually stolen from him.
I'm just glad I'm not running security or that it's our party that has to risk having blood on our hands. But seriously if they manage to steal the nomination from Trump Chicago 68 will look like an out of control keg party in comparison.

He won't be on the final ballot, one way of the other.

(10,857 posts)If you stop looking at it from a political perspective, where bad press can ruin you overnight, and look at it from a showbusiness perspective, where there is no such thing as bad press, Trump's campaign suddenly makes a lot of sense. He is his own brand and he has latched onto the perfect scheme to exponentially grow his brand so that he can launch his own television network with other peoples' money, which is how he always operates.
But the thing to remember about Trump is that he is the poster child for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and he's got the front seat on the biggest roller coaster ride of them all. He's never willingly getting off now. Who knows? He might get to become a despotic tyrant along the way.
If he doesn't, he'll be able to claim that this was his plan all along, and having it stolen from him will only add power to the narrative. For a narcissist as malleable as a fistful of silly putty, it's a remarkably clever plan to preserve his self-esteem, which is all he really has.
