Obama Makes Air Force One Wait to Finish Watching Game 7

Like any red-blooded American.

Like millions of his fellow Americans last night, Barack Obama was glued to the T.V. during the last five minutes of Game 7, which may go down as one of the most dramatic games in N.B.A. Finals history. And like millions of other Americans, there was no way in hell that he would miss the outcome of an 89-89 death match between the Golden State Warriors, the best team in the league’s history, versus LeBron James, the best player in the world.

It was such an important game that Obama, who was returning from Yosemite with his family, put his job of “being president” on hold for at least 10 minutes:

Most common people were up watching that game, sure.

But not on Air Force One. There is nothing common about that.

(^^not a criticism. I would have done the same thing.^^)

The only schedule that Air Force One has is the schedule of the president. There is never any delay, as the plane moves when the president says he's ready to leave.

I was posted overseas in the 1990s when VP Al Gore visited. I was at the airport, one of many from the consulate and embassy. The VP and Tipper took their time getting back to the airport because they stopped, if memory serves, for a last minute hand-holding walk on the beach, or at least that's what we at the airport were told. Air Force Two wasn't delayed because it wasn't going to leave without the Vice President and his delegation.

Like any good headline does. For those that were expecting VF to lambast the President for those ten minutes, they were surely disappointed.

that AF1 doesn't have a TV aboard. It's not as though he'd be sitting in coach and watching a small screen.

...it's just another VC-25A. It's not like there were other passengers waiting at a connecting airport. Those 2 planes just wait all the time. That is the plan.

Light and funny, this is inexcusable! I'm alerting the admins and asking for a jury rule against both light and funny. Attempting either will get you a hide. Attempting both will get you double secret probation. Light does not exist; we will beat that out of you.

FUNNY! You can't handle funny. sheshe2, this isn't Kansas anymore.

No actually, the Republicans never noticed. They were too busy making sure that the NRA was being coddled.
