Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Monday he expects the next president of the United States to be a woman.
The next president, whoever he or she most likely she is going to be, needs to get these defense cuts set aside, Graham said at the Center for a New American Securitys annual conference.
Graham has been at odds with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump since the two were rivals in the race for the White House.
He has recently urged members of his party to unendorse Trump after the billionaire repeatedly attacked a judge presiding over lawsuits against Trump University. Trump questioned if the judge, a Mexican-American, could be impartial because of Trump's immigration proposals.

(4,835 posts)Among the craziest of the conservatives, but lately he seems almost like a normal human being.
Hopefully they (conservatives) can see just how crazy they look with Trump leading the pack.

(14,286 posts)I'd rather see defense cuts made by eliminating boondoggles rather than this 10% across-the-board scheme. It's highly unfair to federal workers. A mandatory unpaid day off every two weeks is one thing, but consider that no part-time job will hire someone on that schedule. So they're in a bind and can't make up the difference. We need to end the sequester.

Senator Graham has a lot of constituents that make a lot of money off the MIC. Has nothing to do with national security and the ability of the U.S. military to actually operate, but has a lot to do with keeping lobbyists and big conglomerates with their DoD subsidiary service providers happy.
