Source: Lovemeow
A stray cat showed up at a lumberyard one day and made it his forever home. He's been offering love and cuddles to whoever comes into the door for 12 years.
Meet Hoover the cat!
Hoover was found at Burke and Sons Lumber Company in Rock Port, MO. over a decade ago and decided to befriend the people there.
"He was living off crickets and grasshoppers. At first we put the word out that we had a young cat that needed a home, but my mom (this is a family run lumber yard) decided after spending time with him that he was going to stay here," Jesse Kendall told Love Meow.
"He is one of the most laid-back cats I've ever seen. He lets children pet him. He likes to be held like a baby. He can usually be found sleeping in a lumber bin, on a desk, or right on the sales counter looking for love from customers," Jesse said.
Hoover greets people with a big smile at the lumberyard.
Hoover oversees the entire operation at the lumberyard.
What a rough night at the lumberyard.
Hoover found a good spot for a nap.
Everybody loves him!
Whenever a customer comes by, he rolls on his back and demands belly rubs and cuddles. It's impossible to say no.

(6,133 posts)It makes you feel good. The cats deserve part of the profits for the way they make me feel, good about the owners.

(13,574 posts)All friendly and love attention when you see one laying around. They probably save them a fortune in damaged merchandise. Mice and rats love nothing better than chewing up boxes and wiring.

(111,245 posts)If there's no food on the premises, the cats are right out front. If it's a business that sells food, the cats are allowed to roam at night and you can see them through the windows. The health inspectors look the other way because an occasional cat hair is a lot more hygienic than rodent piss.
Most of them are as laid back as this guy. He's got the perfect disposition for a store cat.

(17,196 posts)his belly. What a sweetie.
It took a bunch of belly rubs before my cat stopped doing the bunny hop on my forearm.
But I was always gentle and let her tear it up.
Now she is very tolerant of it, I even get the purr motor running.
What a great story

(8,175 posts)For years, you'd see him inside, sleeping on a shelf by the window to catch some good rays.
He was laid back too. They named him RC Hammer. He's not alive any more. It's been a long time. I think all stores should have a cat inside.
