Oh yeah, the 60's were just great for everyone!
POLK COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -
A campaign sign in Polk County is stirring up a lot of controversy.
The sign, located off Highway 411 near Benton, says "Make America White Again" and was put there by Rick Tyler, an independent candidate in the race for Tennessee's 3rd congressional district seat currently held by Chuck Fleischmann.
Tyler told Channel 3, he has no hatred in his heart for "people of color." He says the sign's message is that America should go back to a "1960s, Ozzie and Harriet, Leave it to Beaver time when there were no break-ins; no violent crime; no mass immigration."
...
Tyler posted a second sign on Highway 64 with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" quote written over a White House surrounded by Confederate Flags.

(15,438 posts)hatred in his, um, heart for PoC but follows that up with, "...no mass immigration" and expect people to believe he's not a White Supremacist is asking a lot of PoC and every other sensible person in 2016.
PoC in TN should vote, en masse, against him and send a message that they don't believe his transparent tripe.

(182,735 posts)Okay those TV shows did stretch into the 60's (1963) but they are primarily thought of as 1950's shows. "Beaver" was a middle of the pack TV show that my mother didn't even remember being in the air. Much like Gilligan's and The Brady's it was a show of no importance at the time that were syndicated for after school watching.
No break-ins. This dolt thinks there were no crimes?
No violent crime. Gee gosh Beav those lynchings were kinda violent. Yeah Wally and women that hadn't seized the wartime opportunity to work outside the house were virtually captives of their husbands who could mistreat them anyway they wanted and the woman no only had almost no options but mostly just had to keep their mouths shut.
On edit - basing real life on TV shows reminds me of the Rightwing talking point about basing our foreign policy on the TV show "24" because torture is just so great.
