This was after Pelosi had made a statement about what they would be doing tomorrow.

The Republicans have adjourned and are no longer there.

Maxine said the Dems shouldn't be like the R's, leaving in the dark of night.

(D) from California's 3rd District is reading from Martin Luther King's Letter from a Birmingham Jail. The section that discusses the reason for dramatizing via confrontation is to seek negotiation.

It's all on C-Span.

Tremendous fortitude from these congressional House democrats, standing up to the stonewalling by republicans and juvenile bullying by the NRA.

They are representing their constituents well. They are especially honoring their constituents who have have lost loved ones to senseless gun violence.

Enough is enough. We must join the rest of the civilized world and enact meaningful gun control.

I hope this leads to nationwide action. Repeal the second amendment if that's what it takes. Enough is enough.

9. I was at the vigil until 2am

the crowd at the vigil was about 100-150 strong when I left.

While I was outside, I heard at least 9-10 Representatives give short, but very rousing speeches. Then I went into the gallery for a bit (around 1:30 am) and watched a couple of votes take place (when to reconvene and when to adjourn). Went back outside and the folks in the vigil were standing on the ladder keeping the crowd chanting.

It just started raining here about 20 minutes ago, so I suspect folks left just as daylight was coming.

Many of the reps urged people to come back today with twice as many people, and the day after with twice as many more.

It was very rousing. I'll be posting images later.
