Mumia Abu-Jamal: Chained Up and Left to Rot

Keith Cook just started a petition to Dr. Paul Noel, Director of Health Care for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and Dr. Carl J. Keldie, Chief Clinical Officer of Correct Care Solutions stating:

Dear ColorOfChange members,

5 years ago, Pennsylvania courts overturned Mumia Abu-Jamal’s death sentence. But the state’s penal system strongly disagrees.

Serving life without parole for a crime he did not commit, Mumia is currently chained to a bed, where he is dying from a curable disease. This is how the State has reintroduced and staged his execution.

Urge Dr. Paul Noel and Dr. Carl J. Keldie to provide immediate life saving Hepatitis C treatment to Mumia Abu-Jamal.

No, I don't; haven't followed it. elleng Jun 2016 #7
It's interesting, because Mumia is able to walk now, apparently, so he's out of danger Demit Jun 2016 #8

that we, as a people, would do this to anyone. Imagine the people dealing with him and turning a blind eye to him, everyday.

But I disagree that he didn't commit the murder with which he's being charged.

As far as I can tell, this is the petition Keith Cook filed a year ago. I know Mumia sued the Department of Corrections last year regarding access to hep c medication, and there were hearings, but has there been any ruling on the case? I can't find anything recent on Mumia except his prison radio broadcasts.

of imminent death, although he still has a skin rash, but the lawsuit holds promise for other inmates who have Hepatitis C.
