(46,179 posts)I don't know of any news source that is unbiased; it's my job to sift through the offerings trying to find some truth. That includes paying attention to counter claims.

(42,770 posts)But sadly there is no source of ultimate truth. It used to be Government statistics..but now the Republicans claim even their numbers are rigged....and every last employee is in on it.

(3,433 posts)People whose identity is tied to political ideology will seek sources of information and communities that reinforce opinion and validate ones stance on political issues. There are of course those who are driven to question everything; even their own mind. They will seek content that challenges deeply held belief and preconceived notions. l have found that people like this tend to be less vocal or their voices are drowned out by the echo chamber. So yes, I believe we are no better.

(42,770 posts)whenever someone posts something that the opposition says/thinks. You are guaranteed a boatload of replies such as "Why are you listening to that shit?"

(21,786 posts)US broadcast news media all suck regardless of theoretical political alignment, and the US only has a few serious newspapers with good reportage of international news.

If I did it again, I would pick some erudite brainiac name like Einstein.
You? Wasn't Gabby Hayes the chuckwagon guy? JK
When I picked mine, someone had posted this pic of him in China, and I thought my first thought waking up for the rest of my life would be how much I hate this bastard
