They want to remain in the EU. They have benefited from trade with the common market.
They should leave ASAP. Britain is going into recession.

If they are passionate about it, why was their gross turnout 12% less than the overall turnout.

Interesting disconnect.

There was no prominent Tory arguing for Leave there (the Scottish Tory leader, Ruth Davidson, was widely held as having made the best case for Remain in a UK-wide debate), the SNP is all for the EU, and so are Scottish Labour. So without much local disagreement, perhaps the sense of urgency just wasn't there.

Let's see where that goes. This is simply the start of a process.

After all these centuries, the Welsh retain a prickly noncompliance -- even preserving their own unique language, which is used for all traffic signage (sometime without English translation!).

This will take more time and doing than anyone realizes, especially those most involved - the British citizens.

And Northern Ireland will want to unify with Ireland as GB goes into recession while Ireland benefits from GB's blunder.

Sturgeon says a second independence referendum is “highly likely”. She wants to explore all options to stay in the EU.

Sturgeon says the option of a second Scottish independence referendum is on the table. There are many people who voted against independence who are reassessing their decision in the light of vote to leave the EU, Sturgeon says.

She adds: “My priority will be to act in the best interest of Scotland. I’m proud of Scotland and how we voted yesterday. We said clearly we don’t want to leave the European Union.”
...
She says taking the UK out of the EU against the will of Scots is “democratically unacceptable”.

Brexit represents a material change to the terms under which Scotland voted against independence.

Manufactures in England will move to Scotland for better access to the EU.
England has fucked itself.
