"After leaving my safe place,I went to a Hundred Acre Woods to fire the atomic rocket rifle, a Armageddon 2419, probably made by Colonel Wilma Deering. I bruised my knuckles operating the cocking lever. Taking aim, I closed my eyes, gritted my teeth, and pulled the trigger. The sound of the spring loaded plunger going "boing" startled me. I became disoriented watching the nuclear fuel rod arc towards its target. The "dink!" sound it made bouncing off a coke can was horribly loud. The recoil was horrendous, like a bazooka or some other recoil-less weapon, and it dislocated my shoulder. I vomited and cried. I still have PTSD. Anxiety. Irritability. Nightmares. I may never again be the same."
I still cherish my youthful days with my Red Ryder BB gun - Still have two eyes, thanks for the thought.

The second amendment is an ugly relic of the 18th century, just as slavery was. It's bullshit. White guys needed their guns to oppress others. Call a fool a patriot, deputize him, make him a member of some militia, and he'll be happy to shoot down slaves and wage slaves refusing to work, or Native Americans refusing to leave their land.
Gun love is disgusting.
I live in a city that's violent. The teenager with a gun is as likely to be a gang member as a kid with a toy. Our cops are quick to shoot people holding guns. "Open carry" is illegal, and the penalty is frequently instant death.
Responsible parents don't encourage their children to play with guns.
I don't laugh about this shit.

(16,296 posts)It just seems some sort of innocence about cap guns and playing cowboys and Indians (please, no beating me over the head with this reference), BB gun shooting Nicco wafers and watching them explode, rocket pistols and playing spaceman , and the summer fun with squirt guns was taken away with the violence we see today. I agree responsible parents don't encourage children to play with guns - but still, something lost.
