I think she still holds the NCAA D-1 women's basketball record for most wins by a coach. She was a legend at the University of Tennessee. But Geno Auriemma of UCONN is catching up if he hasn't passed Pat Summit already.

It's a great tragedy. She did her best to try to remain a part of the team I think even after she had to formally step down as head coach. One of her relatives, her son, might have taken over but I'm not positive.

Peace be with her and all who care about her.

She is a legend. If it's any comfort, her family surrounds her and she feels no pain.

Love and peace to Dear Pat.

She should easily be top 5 (if not 3) all time.

Former University of Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt is "struggling" and those close to her are "preparing for the worst," a source involved in the situation confirmed today.

"I don't think anybody knows whether she will last a day, a month, or a year," the source said.

As of late Saturday, Summitt had not been moved from the retirement center where she has been living with early onset dementia, Alzheimer's type.

Summitt's family and some former players were with her Saturday, and preparations were being made to make public statements on her condition when necessary.
