Hey Trey Gowdy, Here Is Your New Nightmare.

His name is Chris Fedalei and he is the Democrat running to take your seat in Congress.

"What!" you say? "What?! There is no way a Democrat is going to beat Gowdy in that red-red-red part of the country!"

Usually I would agree but consider this... Gowdy's two elections with opposition put him at winning with 65% of the vote. That's a pretty uphill climb for Chris Fedalei to overtake Gowdy.

BUT consider this: Minority voters now make up 25% of the voters in SC Congressional District 4. Obama got 38% of the vote in his first election in the district. That gives us a better idea of the numbers with motivated minority voters in the mix. It also shows the Dems were only 12% behind with the motivated minority voters. 12% seems like a pretty big leap.

But is it? Gowdy goes into this elections with a different set of motivated voters. Spartanburg County has a large number of youth voters. Elizabeth Warren may bring in a pretty good chunk of those energized younger voters. The minority voters have shown again and again that they will turn out in the same numbers for Mrs Clinton as they did for President Obama. The minority numbers have been increasing as well so we might even have an extra minority percentage point or two...or three.

But here is the tricky part. Women voters. Trey Gowdy just spent years and millions of dollars beating up on Hillary Clinton. He goes into this election with a big "L" on his forehead from Benghazi. Gowdy just lost on one of the biggest speaking points that has been used on Mrs Clinton. His failure heaps failure on much of the allegations against her. If this was a race, someone just took out one of Gowdy's legs with a bat and that someone is Mrs. Clinton (or the truth in this case). Gowdy is still hopping along, but he is bloody, battered and looks a total fool.

By sticking to her guns, by standing up to him during the investigation, Mrs. Clinton has empowered women in a way many of us probably don't understand. But for those women voters in the Carolinas, they will have a lot to think about in the voting booth. If Mrs. Clinton can sway them her way, if they shy away from the uber-bully Trump, they might just as easily vote against Gowdy as the bully he is. An advertisement showing Trey and Trump trashing a woman, lying, losing and spending seven million dollars is powerful stuff. An advertisement showing Mrs. Clinton standing up to Trey Gowdy as he bullied and sneered at her, maybe more so.

Benghazi has long been the "I saw a unicorn!" of the Republican party. Mrs. Clinton just took away their unicorn. She just took away Gowdy's credibility. Now let's help take away Trey Gowdy.

Democrat Chris Fedalai needs some of your help to do it.

But are you working on the campaign? I'm in Columbia so I get to vote against Joe Wilson every two years.

I've spent the last 3 months figuring the calculus for Ann Kirkpatrick of AZ ... and guess what, as of this morning, she pulling the number ... and the GOTV efforts haven't really even started!!!

Donald Trump is not a wink-wink-nudge-nudge racist....he's an in-your-face racist. But what he has done for many people is lifted the wool from their eyes. I think a lot of the wink-wink-nudge-nudge stuff that people ignored just got seen for what it is.

I'm kind of guessing a percentage of the Republican party has just woken up and realized they are in bed with some pretty racist characters... and they don't like it.

I'm hoping we see shifts in some other races as well! (and I can't help but think women are going to do well in this election).

And together we can accomplish a lot. With the GOP in there though, they could put the brakes on progress.
