looks like it has come up above the equator. The northern jet over Asia looks like it needs a chiropractor but it's comfortably above the equator.

I have to wonder if this might be what's been shutting down storm activity in the Pacific this year. Storms have been trying to form off the coast of Mexico, only to fizzle out quickly.

I'm not ready to call for the end of life as we know it because we simply haven't observed the jet streams long enough to know what they do from time to time. It is a little worrying but it might fall into the category of weather, rather than climate.

But don't worry your pretty little heads about it, just
keep on making them cute lil'babies and giving them all
the toys they want. Precious lil'dumplings gifts from heaven, the sixth
great extinction is for other folks, not YOU.

I love squeezing their chubby little cheeks, and saying, " who's gonna have a wonderful
post-apocalyptic nightmare" "your are, you are!".
All wrapped up in your pink fleece (petro-chems), in your diaper (petro-chems), with your
little plastic ducky (petro-chems), in your crib made mostly with (petro-chems).
"Whose gonna get drafted to fight all those coming resource wars, climate refugees, and various unsavory types for the 1%, you are". You cuddly lil, carbon bomb.
Keep on having them babies, it's gonna all be ok.
Cause what we need most of all is more people. One of those precious little pumpkins
is gonna invent and iPhone app to take all the carbon outta the atmosphere.

Trust.

I'm 48, married with 3 shelter dogs.
All of which have a smaller carbon foot print, than on
precious bundle of joy.
The worse thing you can do for the environment is have kids,
especially here in north america. (Do to the exponential amount of waste and energy usage.)
and.
What the hell is so bad about human extinction.
I'm not a human exceptionalist. Kinda a good Ol'fashioned nihilist.

Climate signs now show warming.

I take it to mean we have altered nature so much that instead of cooling we have warming. That's how much we have altered nature.

There's no doubt that weather and climate are changing, due to human activities, but upper-tropospheric winds cross the equator all the time. A couple of bloggers playing 'connect-the-dots' with a random day's map is not "scientists declare a global emergency," nor is the pattern shown to be "unprecedented"...
