I have an observation

It is beyond misguided to blame some of these attacks on religion - according to reports from everywhere, everyone killed in Bangladesh is linked to the garment industry.

The treatment of workers in Bangladesh including buildings collapsing is often dismissed as the cost of cheap mass produced clothes. Be wary of the self-interested 1% and their interests blaming everything on one religion - although the religion of greed may be the most accurate description yet - greed for power, resources, land and money and greed to show of on us peons everywhere.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/07/02/militants_kill_20_hostages_in_bangladesh_spare_those_who_could_recite_quran.html

A brutal attack on an upscale cafe and restaurant in Dhaka’s diplomatic area ended Saturday morning when security forces stormed the building following an 11-hour siege that left 20 hostages dead, most of them foreigners. Six gunmen were killed during the operation that saved 13 hostages and one was captured. Two police officers were also killed. Islamic State quickly claimed responsibility for what was the deadliest in a series of attacks in recent months by Islamist militants that largely targeted individuals who advocated a secular lifestyle in the majority-Muslim country and foreigners. The claim has yet to be confirmed.

Around 35 people were taken hostage at the popular Holey Artisan Bakery on Friday night. Witnesses say the militants ordered Bangladeshis to stand up and then began killing the foreigners. Even though initial reports claimed all the dead were foreigners, officials said some locals were also among the dead. One hostage who was rescued told his father the attackers didn’t kill anyone who could recite verses from the Quran. "The gunmen asked everyone inside to recite from the Quran. Those who recited were spared. The gunmen even gave them meals last night," the father of a Bangladeshi businessman who was rescued told the Associated Press.

Where did you read this? (Writing it down and reading it doesn't count). 2 were Emory University students. And these:

*****************************************************************

Who are the victims?

Nine Italians named by the Italian foreign ministry as: Cristian Rossi; Marco Tondat; Nadia Benedetti; Adele Puglisi; Simona Monti; Claudia Maria D'Antona; Vincenzo D'Allestro; Maria Rivoli and Claudio Cappelli

Seven Japanese. Names not released

Three Bangladeshis. Names not released

One Indian. Tarushi Jain, 18, who was a student at the University of California, Berkeley

Bangladesh's Daily Star newspaper said the gunmen tortured anyone who was unable to recite the Koran. They provided meals overnight for only the Bangladeshi captives, it said.

construction and were there as part of an aid program.
"The head of Japan's development agency has expressed his strong indignation toward the attackers in the Bangladesh restaurant attack, saying the Japanese taken hostage were working hard for the development of the South Asian country.

One Japanese hostage has been hospitalized, and the fate of seven others is unknown. They were outside consultants working for Japan's development agency on an infrastructure project."

how anyone can NOT blame religion for this is beyond misguided

People were apparently killed if they could remember the difference between warp and weft and calculate how many square feet were needed for a 3XL T-shirt. Whether you lived or died depended on how well you knew the difference between cotton and linen. This was clearly garment trade-inspired terrorism. ISIS after all stands for Independent Seamstresses Indict Sweatshops.

Jesus Fucking Christ....
