(48,790 posts)It WAS a great photo before somebody stepped on all the colors and tones with some 'Instagram effect' or similar, muddying them and losing detail.
It would be nice to see the real photo.

(4,532 posts)Alberta?
laundry_queen
(8,646 posts)although it's kind of silly - I live in Alberta and all the conservative voters here I know IRL are atheist or non-religious. Most are simply very libertarian (the 'gimme my taxes' type). And Alberta currently has an NDP government in power provincially - the New Democratic party is to the left of the Liberals - Justin Trudeau's party. And you couldn't pry universal health care away from Albertans. There would be a war. So Alberta may be further to the right than a lot of Canada, it's still pretty far to the left of most of the U.S.

(4,532 posts)I know all about the NDP, Liberals, and conservatives. I started reading about Canadian political parties during the Canadian election this fall. Tom Mulcair, Trudeau and Harper. Even though I may lean more towards NDP, I probably would have voted Liberal if I were a Canadian citizen.

(11,535 posts)We have a rock star as a national leader. I hope he turns out to be more forthright than he's appeared so far.
I do like him. As a figurehead and a representative, he's great. This, and Obama's visit, cases in point. That was a lovefest, from both directions. I imagine you saw the scene when POTUS entered the House Of Commons. A DNC rally would have a hard time topping that adulation, which was completely genuine.
Just not happy with the directions TPP, pipeline, and Canada Post are going.

(28,057 posts)I'm impressed that Canada is safe enough for the Prime Minister to march so openly in any parade.
No way would the Secret Service allow an American president to do this anywhere in the U.S. - and with good reason.
