Deaths Of Two American Presidents

On America’s 50th birthday, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, two of the men that helped forge the nation, died hours apart.

Jefferson and Adams first met at the 1775 Continental Congress in Philadelphia. . .

The fact that two founding fathers died on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is just so hard to get one's head around. It's poignant and defies the law of averages.

that they died on the same day, let alone that it was July 4, and the 50th at that! Not the 49th or 48th or the 51st, but the 50th right on.

Makes you think they might have died slightly sooner or on some different day, but were aware of the approach of the 50th anniversary and had a will to live to see it.
