Small Town 4th of July Parade, interesting note about the Republican entry

Usually, they have a big display of support for both Grassley and the presidential candidate, plus some kind of bashing Obama display.

This year, only local candidates were displayed. Not even House seats were represented.

I don't know what it means, but I found it very interesting, simply because it is such a huge change from the usual.

Dem float/display was as usual, signs for all the candidates they have running from county/state/national.

but extremely popular.

This year, there were also no cheers as it went by as per usual behavior.

The unmitigated disaster that was the Bush regime finally woke many voters up to the sad fact that the GOP was has become little more than a vehicle for extremism and treasonous profiteering.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

I spent the weekend in Steve King's district. Politics didn't really come up much outside of my own family (who are mostly Democrats in a sea of Republicans). I was in a small town so it was mostly farm implements in the parade!

But it did seem like there wasn't that same smug, self-righteous attitude that I'm used to seeing. I think they've have the wind knocked out of their sails.

They think it's cool to be an outsider, like a Trump. Trump talks like a fool and says the things they want to hear. They like that. He's not "PC".

I’m at the Burien 4th of July parade. The 34th Dems had a great showing. Towards the end of the parade he Trump Truck came by. The crowd on both sides of the street erupted in booing which was continuous until they passed. In all my years of attending many parades in the region I’ve never seen anyone or anything boo’d. Amazing and hopeful.
