Normally they are just a person the police want to interview.

(44 posts)On here right now pushing that false information. We know the open carry guy has not been labeled the shooter.

(19,564 posts)I can't believe they actually posted that the way they did.

(19,564 posts)That's all we can hope for at this point. The public is a powder keg at this moment, not to mention the LEOs. We need to be careful, extremely careful, what is said at this point.

(205,207 posts)I had just checked in with my phone when I turned on the TV - a couple of hours ago. MSNBC said the "person of interest" and one suspect are "in custody." This is from the Dallas PD, from MSNBC.

(19,564 posts)Which was a good idea considering everything. He's safer now no matter what.
I'm glad to know they have a suspect also in custody! That's assuming they're not confusing the same person? Everything is so confusing tonight.

(19,564 posts)I suspect he's not involved, but what do I know?
He was an easy person to focus on, too easy to my eyes, but I know less than nothing. I'm running on emotion right now.

(205,207 posts)But if I saw some guy walking down the street carrying a gun, I'd sure be suspicious! But then I'm in New York, not something we see here...

(19,564 posts)Which is a whole other conversation for another time. Still, wow! I'd pee my pants if I had to deal with it on a regular basis.

(205,207 posts)One day he got off the phone noticeably upset so I asked him what was wrong - and he said that his friend's younger brother accidentally shot himself and had died. I was pretty shocked but he said everyone has guns where he's from. I realize that's just one isolated incident, but it certainly stuck in my mind.

(19,564 posts)My post in your thread were not intended to dispute your point. I was trying to explain the initial confusion on the topic. I wasn't saying I agreed with the Dallas PD in what they said! It was appalling to me, just to be clear.
I'm never very articulate, and tonight I may be worse than normal. I apologize if I in anyway made you feel I was defending their statement. I wasn't. That I swear to you.
