Talking with Brian Williams on MSNBC, Giuliani just said:
"There's a reason there's a target on police officers' backs; it's because of groups like Black Lives Matter."

(13,390 posts)Police choose their profession. It seems to me that they are accepting some degree of risk. Things that shouldn't happen sometimes do, and that is especially true of situations that are inherently risky. To take it on voluntarily is one thing. For the possibility of danger to be determined by unavoidable, involuntary skin color is entirely different.

(1,473 posts)the media and law enforcement's constant push for hero worship is sickening.
I keep seeing how this is the biggest attack on police since 9/11.
since when was 9/11 an attack on police?

(2,900 posts)Black Lives Matter is hardly a perfect movement, but in no way is there a connection between their principles of justice and the assassinations in Dallas. America doesn't consider the lives of black people to be as valuable as those of white people. And this is a huge source of violence and injustice in this country.
Giuliani is a part of the problem here.

New York Times
The New York Police Department produced a detailed analysis in 1998 opposing plans by the city to locate its emergency command center at the World Trade Center, but the Giuliani administration overrode those objections. The command center later collapsed from damage in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.
Seven World Trade Center is a poor choice for the site of a crucial command center for the top leadership of the City of New York, a panel of police experts, which was aided by the Secret Service, concluded in a confidential Police Department memorandum.
