The NRA speaks

As the nation's largest and oldest civil rights organization, the NRA proudly supports the right of law-abiding Americans to carry firearms for defense of themselves and others regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

The reports from Minnesota are troubling and must be thoroughly investigated. In the meantime, it is important for the NRA not to comment while the investigation is ongoing.

Rest assured, the NRA will have more to say once all the facts are known.

they don't have much to say now..but they've had plenty to say in the past, long before "all the facts" were known.

Is that what they call the Dallas attack? Who was the Dallas shooter running from? Who was attacking him? He was defending himself from exactly, what?

'See, no problem. Anybody can shoot anybody, we don't care.'

Somehow, I would much prefer everybody have a violin instead of a gun, regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

Back in 1980 when I worked for my local PD and I was an NRA member.
Its just what you did.
They had better walk VERY carefully on this one. White cops dead?
Id love to be a fly on the wall in those meetings.

Sadly, there are a few here at DU. The disinterested reader is invited to PM for some
links to their racist posts.

As an aside, I'll merely repeat what I recently posted in another thread:

This is a subject in which the ignorant are often proud of their ignorance

...desegregate your photo collection and stop ascribing ulterior motives to white gun
owners solely due to their lack of melanin.

BTW: For the benefit of those reading this, I have long shared my interlocutor's
visceral dislike of the NRA.

And people say there's no common ground!
