Fox News IS literally a terrorist organisation

I am sitting here, at 734 AM, after seeing people in Dallas hugging cops (that made me cry and gave me a brief feeling of hope), listening to a fucker like Trump even sound (or his surrogates) somewhat rational (don't flame me for saying that, I know he is a fucking rotter to his dark fucking core). watching Newt fucking Gingrich making a cogent statement to white America about how they do NOT know how PoC feel. I see people at least trying to come together and maybe, just maybe have a wee bit of good come out of this madness and death parade.

THEN

I switch stream to Fox.

And they are literally trying to bait BLM and others in Baton Rouge with bullshit agent provocateur reporters ramping shit up at the protest. They CONTINUOUSLY are playing BLM videos with BLM chanting death to cops, pigs in a blanket fry like bacon. They have assholes wall to wall making false and inflammatory statements. They are ripping Obama on every front for BULLSHIT reasons.

This shit is being viewed by millions of people who could possibly be turned away, even if a little, from their goddamn racist thinking IF they WERE NOT fed the Fox HATE psyop 24-7.

I am beyond raging. Fox is willfully trying to instigate short term immediate violence, and prevent medium to long term repair of our goddamn social and racial fabric.

They are THE ENEMY of the USA, ALL the USA, every single person on some goddamn level, no matter what race or socioeconomic level other than the .1% (not 1, 0.1!). Blood is on their fucking dirty fucking hands. I feel so so helpless to do anything (even if I was there in the US atm).

the HATE is affecting the very people who are the supporters, whether directly or indirectly, of the culture of racism and hate. Therefore, Fox is ensuring that there will be zero chance of those mainstream rightish people (who are a significant barrier to any meaningful change) moving one millimetre towards any positive reconsideration of their attitudes and their lives.

are racist. Fox is giving them what they want. Before they had Fox, those people resented the hell out of having to choose between ABC, NBC and CBS. Fox is giving those people what they want. They may not know a lot about history and they may not know much about our political institutions, but they know that an African American is not supposed to be living in the White House. They know that much.

Fox can cater to these folks, but it cannot change their views. Over time, those people will die and be replaced by younger people who may, if we're lucky, hold different views. If that happens, Fox will change.

Turn Fox off and take some deep breaths.

Yes, Fox News is a right ring propaganda machine. Take solace in the fact that their demographics are literally dying out.

Am I missing something? I understand that the internet is smashing into cable news (especially for younger people), but still, it seems like fucking Fox is gaining, not losing.

I did turn it off, btw. No more , no way.

source for Americans who watch televised news. This is not the case. The internet is smashing cable? Not so much. Cable was not worthy of smashing, it has a niche audience and in the case of Fox News, an elderly demographic that is not rushing to the internet.

The fact is that the three broadcast networks are still the main televised sources for news in the US. Fox being first in cable is not the same as being first in TV news, nor in news, nor in cable.

Take the news hours of the three broadcast networks. Each of the three has viewership larger than the entire viewership of all cable 'news' at that hour. Each of the three has more people watching that all of the cable outlets combined. By a factor of millions and millions of people. Like 15 million more or so when comparing network totals to cable totals.

I am #1 in intelligence in my house. Also, I'm alone with my cat. Fox News tells you they are #1 but they don't mention the context.

Direct yet subtle mass propagandising of a message with an undertow of destabilisation and further hatred piled upon hatred is the act of a terrorist organisation. It is the sophisticated rending apart of any positive inertia that could have been gained out of these multiple tragedies. Furthermore, Fox spewage may (and I am sure has in the past) likely trigger violence directly related to these present murderous troubles we are suffering from. Fox News quite possibly has helped to up the ante within the thin blue line in terms of hatred and mistrust of PoC, attitudes that are lurking in the minds of the cops who pulled the triggers of death.

could have..

may trigger violence...

quite possibly has helped...

As opposed to actual terrorists who chop heads, detonate in markets, burn folks alive in cages and murder police.

Again... ludicrous... It's an emotional response to a serious issue that does nothing but hinder the conversation. It's the continuation of the slow steady shift towards 'everything is terrorism' which leads to restrictions of free speech, reduced privacy and an ever growing paternalistic authority that 'know's what best for you'.

I am not some anti free speech advocate. I simply laid out the one way (very unlikely) anything could actually be done.

I think a far better solution is to go back to the Fairness Doctrine.

The First Amendment isn't being violated just because you don't like the message.

Now, if you could prove that Fox employees were roaming the streets with AR-15s or planting IEDs on the stoops of people whose politics their editorial board disagreed with, that'd be something different.

Ain't.

The only way Fox News could be charged with incitement to terror and death is if you could prove they willfully were pushing lines of propaganda, lies, and fighting words that they knew would lead, and did lead to imminent violence/death.
