Kansas cop gets fired for sickening, random online attack against black woman’s child in aftermath

of Dallas shootings.

A white Kansas cop who threatened a random black woman’s young daughter over Facebook amidst racial tensions between police and civilians has been fired. Rodney Lee Wilson, who had been an officer with Overland Park Police Department for more than a year, lashed out at LaNaydra Williams online, despite no obvious connection between the two.

Having found pictures of Williams’ five-year-old daughter India visible on her Facebook profile, Lee launched an astonishing rant in which he appeared to threaten the girl’s life.

Referencing the Black Lives Matter movement, Lee wrote: ‘We’ll see how much her life matters soon… better be careful leaving your info in the open where she can be found.

‘Hold her close tonight, it’ll be the last time.’

....Williams added that she has never been to Overland Park, has no connection to Kansas, and has no idea how Wilson found her Facebook page.

She also claims that after contacting Williams’ superiors she was initially told that his account had been hacked, despite the post being deleted.

However, the police later backtracked, confessed that Wilson had been behind the message, and dismissed him from duty.

Speaking to KSHB.com she added: ‘I felt horrified because I don’t know these people. And then when I click on they guy’s, Rodney Lee’s, picture I see he’s a cop.

Unfortunately, this waste of human flesh will probably find another police job somewhere else, just like the sack of feces who executed Tamir Rice in Cleveland. He was hired AFTER being deemed unfit for duty by another department. I wouldn't put it past some other department to hire this clown once the outrage dies down.

and they fired him, as they should have.

But this?

‘For this guy to just
come out of nowhere, just being disrespectful
. How can you be an officer? How, How? It’s unacceptable. For anyone but especially for a police officer.

What he did was absolutely unacceptable, but I think posting a picture of a cop with a knife to his throat is pretty unacceptable as well. Perfectly legal, yes, justification for what the cop did, no way, but not exactly random either.

She said Overland Park Police Chief Francis Donchez Jr. called her to apologize. Overland Park police wouldn't comment on the investigation details or whether anything might have prompted Rodney Lee Wilson's post, but FOX 4 did learn that Williams' profile picture was a person dressed in black holding a knife to a police officer's throat. Williams did confirm to FOX 4 that Facebook deleted her account.

7. What she did was stupid what the cop did was illegal but hold them both to the same standard? Sounds

... like a false equivalency at best but lets say for the sake of position they both were just stupid.

The cop SHOULD be held to a higher standard of professionalism, LEO's are not supposed to be thug life and I'm glad she brought his punk ass out even though I deplore the way it was done.

She has first amendment rights, even if they're deplorable, that should not be infringed on as long as she's not breaking any laws.

Screw people who don't want to be civil but the ones who are NOT civil and do such with the protection of a badge are worse.

Yes, the cop should be held to a higher standard - I'm glad he lost his job, and if there are any avenues for filing criminal charges against him for making the threat, they should be vigorously pursued.

Yes, she has First Amendment rights, although I'm not sure why you think the First Amendment has anything to do with this; I'm not saying that she should face any kind of legal repercussions for the picture.

I'm just saying that it's a bit disenguous of her to act like she has no idea where this came from, like it was some kind of random thing. And it's also kind of odd that she posted such a picture and then implied that she's raising her child to respect the police. While I personally don't care how she raises her child (that's her business, not mine), it's laughable to make that implication while having that kind of photo for her profile picture.

... upholding not threatening to kill her baby... or... any SMALLER action of that.. including cussing her out or whatever

Let us talk, let us say something...

"She was mean to me" isn't the kind of thing I want to hear coming out of a LEOs mouth in any way, people are going to be stupid that doesn't mean, to any degree, that the LEO should go ahead and get as stupid.

There are less degrees of that the happens all around this country that seldom gets corrected like it did in this case...

Because it wasn't random doesn't mean she should expect it... she shouldn't...

Do LEOs go off on folks who have confederate flags attached their their houses etc?

No, ... she should expect to be able to say what she wants in the bounds of the law no matter how ignorant...

See Donald tRump for prime example of this

Just right across the street from Kansas City Missouri. The SPLC and the FBI had been warning us for years that white supremacist shitbags were infiltrating our police departments, and our military. This man is just crazy enough to do damage and the OP Police Department and FBI better have him under surveillance.
