ST. JOSEPH, MI (RNN) - A man killed two court bailiffs and shot several others, including a sheriff's deputy, before officers fatally shot him at the Berrien County Courthouse on Monday afternoon.

Michigan State Police secured the Berrien County Courthouse about half an hour after a shooting broke out there Monday afternoon, according to the governor.

Multiple people were reported injured when an armed suspect began firing. The courthouse was locked down after the incident, which occurred after 2:30 p.m. eastern time. Police officials did not specify the number of victims or their conditions.

Gov. Rick Snyder, in a tweet, said law enforcement had secured the scene and started an investigation.
