this is what America looks like on a good day.

"Can we find the character, as Americans ..."

(12,665 posts)Could look like everyday. I'm loving our President, too.
Look at them. Look at this service. Democrats and Repubs together, agreeing on the same things. Unity! I'm not naive, either, Mr. President; but I'm feeling more hope, faith, and love.
Like PO said. We can't slide back. Keep moving forward. Learn from Dallas in all other police departments.
I'm giving free hugs to everyone I communicate with today, so here 1SBM.
And, yes. Black Lives Matter!

I'm going to miss him terribly.

(31,849 posts)she didn't do the elbow thing; but, she did, ever so briefly, give him the Black mama in church "you better behave" eye.

(12,665 posts)He looked even more stupid than normal, then. I was going to give him a tad bit of leeway today, but he blew it with that dance. Poor Michelle!

What an embarrassment he is to the whole country. No wonder the Repubs won't let him anywhere near their events now.

It was apparent that his "speechifying" skills have not improved since he left office.

And to think we elected him* POTUS... oh, wait, we did no such thing.

(81,198 posts)DAYUM can he say ANYTHING that has the letter "s" in it that he doesn't slur? Is he THAT pickled? Just hearing him blight my eardrums with that droning sloshing delivery again reminded me of how miserable that eight-year plague was, to have to live through. I do NOT miss him, AT ALL. He's probably killed one-too-many brain cells by now. What else does he have to do with his time now? Besides paint pathetic paintings of his feet in the bathtub, and crawl into a collection of liquor bottles? What a disgrace.

(302 posts)How would you like to give a speech on the same stage as someone as articulate and moving as President Obama, and you with only half a brain?

(90,637 posts)Hubby came home for lunch, was listening to NPR in the car with tears in his eyes. We both love Obama more than we can say.
So we turned on CNN just in time to see Idiot Son on display -- something is visibly wrong with Dubya.

(2,322 posts)Each speech is better, more inspirational than the last. I am sorry that so many of them are at memorials...but each time it become clearer and clearer that he's transforming from our President into our "Minister." I'm not for an official religious leader of our country, as in England where there's an Archbishop, but if we had such, Obama would be in line for the job.
He has been (still is for the moment) our commander in chief, but he is becoming (or now is) our natiional soul and conscience. Unlike so many politicians past and present, he alone reminds us of the best we can be.
Whatever else about these times we live in, we are incredibly fortunate to have lived now, and had this man as our president. Future generations will envy us.
