World's oldest park ranger, 94, back at work after attack

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36780401

The oldest park ranger in the US, 94-year-old Betty Reid Soskin, has gone back to work two weeks after being beaten up in a burglary.

Ms Soskin, who has led tours at a historical park in the San Francisco Bay area for 10 years, said she wanted to "get back in to routine life".

On 27 June a burglar punched her in the head and stole a mobile phone, a laptop and some jewellery from her house.

Co-workers and volunteers greeted her with cheers and hugs upon her return.

She told her colleagues at the Rosie the Riveter World War Two Home Front National Historical Park: "It's so good to see you all and feel the support of the community."

since I'm from SF, and I've seen many local reporters covering this for TV. The robber apparently stole her Presidential coin from President Obama, but he has offered to give her a new one. What an amazing woman!

Good for her and the people she works and to the people that tour her park. Nicely done

I remember articles and posts on several forums about her - and I hope the burglar jumped out of a window and landed on a barbed wire fence, testicles first.

and one lesson she's teaching us is never give in to the scumbags out there. Just go back to your life and live it.
