Oh Rachel!

Rachel Maddow has a unique ability to devine small details and to make it newsy/entertaining at the same time.

To wit: Her piece on potential VP choice Tim Kayne.

SPOILER ALERT:

He is on Spanish language TV. (Univision or Telemundo, I missed it.)

He takes the question in Spanish and delivers a fluent response back.

I live in So. Cal. and wish I could be fluent. I just know a lot of words. Tim Kayne could relate to other than white voters.

Cool!

I felt envy and wished I could speak so fluently. Hell, I wish I could speak any real Spanish at all.

I too live in So Cal and think often about finding an online course I could take. One I could devote myself to for one hour daily - but also something I could afford. Like close to free. I don't want to write or conjugate verbs. I just want to understand what is being said and be able to respond quickly. Would also need to find someone to converse with on a regular basis.

Ah, well. One of these days, I hope.

and the 2d comment, from thebestarts:

Every Trump sentence has words. Sometimes three words. Or two. And they're great sentences. Terrific sentences. They're great. With repeated words. Terrific repeated words. Not very big words. Every Trump sentence has words
