Thanks for your participation.

So far, particularly after the events of the past week where the disconnect seems to have become insurmountable, I've been frequenting JPR, TruthDig, CounterPunch, a lot more of Naked Capitalism, Automatic Earth, and reading a daily dose of Science Daily, but DU always seemed like the one stop shop, plus I got all of those amazing pet rescue stories, debate from people around the world and updates on their experience of events in real time, links to scientific and health stories I always seemed to miss, good reads, recipes, ways to build squirrel baffels, and introductions to amazing people in my very own backyard. A real treasure for over a decade that I will be very sad to lose. Best of luck to you (and all of us).

To hear all these people on DU always getting so angrry and swearing it off seems like they are taking it way too seriously. I just come on here to keep informed a bit, make some comments and as kind of a break from real life and work. Nothing to get bent out of shape about if you just kind of go with the flow.

Well, if you need to "sign off" from a forum board on the internet, then I'm sorry your life is too wrapped up on here. One needs to live a somewhat carefree life. If you were a Bernie supporter and are leaving because of Hillary, well I'm not sure what to say. If you are growing tired of the manic, vitriol that is being thrown around, then I feel for you. If you are sick, then I hope all is well.

DU used to be a great place. A real community. Intelligent people. Commonality.

Not so much anymore. A TON of posters who post without benefit of our long shared history. Lots that smells like Discussionist. I was gone for quite some time. Came back and started posting again a few months ago.

Overal rating: Meh.
