A loose definition of fascism doesn't do anybody any good...

Fascism is a lot more than government being too cozy with business. That is a dangerous oversimplification.

Getting cozy with business was not at the top of Mussolini's , Hitler's, and Tojo's wish list; establishing a sense of racial identity and hierarchy was.

Trump=fascism !!!

1. Trump is reminding us just what fascism is.

It's shutting down certain reporters or newspapers if they don't write what you want.

It's killing the families of criminals as a deterrent.

It's telling people they have to say "Merry Christmas."

It's intentionally segregating a nation based on race.

It's endorsing torture.

3. I agree 100% except...

But I don't have a big problem with ceremonial deities and niceties like saying "Merry Christmas".

I do think the whole "War on Christmas" meme is manipulative and an affront to Christianity.

I just have a problem with Trump saying that when he's president, people will be saying it - as in people will HAVE to say it.

2. This short video about Theodor Adorno - a sociologist who studied fascism -

is very enlightening on the topic. Adorno developed a psychological questionnaire to rate people as potential proto-fascists based on issues like authoritarianism and tradition. Very interesting (7.5 minutes)
